We're pleased to offer the following services in our Bryan Veterinary Clinic:

Anesthesia: All patients have the full compliment of safe balanced anesthesia and complimentary pain management while recovering. All anesthetised patients are monitored by a Licensed Technician and cardiac monitor.

Surgery: We perform a wide range of soft tissue and orthopedic surgery. We also perform many specialty surgeries at a great discount over what specialists charge. For example we have performed well over 1000 anterior cruciate repairs and hundreds of luxated patella repairs. From tumor removal, thyroidectomies, splenectomies, fracture repair to even the occasional PDA repairs, our combined 50 years of experience makes us feel very qualified in a vast array of surgerys.  We utilize Laser surgery often to augment surgery. It is especially helpful in "Declaws" where pain management is difficult but not with the laser.

Endoscopy: Many chronic vomiting or diarrhea patients have diseases or foreign bodies that are best diagnosed by the use of of a "scope". There have been many problems solved by the use of this instrument. Not only do we employ a large number of assorted fiberoptics to view the stomach and intestines but also for the treatment of the middle ear.

Dermatology: One of the most common conditions in small animal medicine is skin disease and allergy. For over 30 years we have employed allergy skin testing as the "gold standard" test for allergies. With a successful diagnosis of the cause of an allergy, we can then offer safe hyposensitization through the use of "allergy shots". This greatly reduces the pet's dependance on corticosteroids.

Dentistry: It is felt that nothing can contribute to a pet's health like good dental care. Regular dental exams and frequent "brushing" can greatly improve the pets "doggy breath" as well significant dental disease. When calculus forms on the teeth we offer a thorough ultrasonic cleaning and flouride treatment.

Cardiology: Heart disease is a complicated science. Effective treatment of heart disease requires a doctor to listen to the heart, view the heart image on x-ray and ultrasound and evaluating electrical conduction by electrocardiogram. All of these we offer with the aid of Board Certified Cardiologists.

Radiology: What used to be a luxury to own as a practitioner is now a staple in all veterinary practices.

Ultrasound: The ultrasound is still a luxury in most practices. The equipment is important but expensive to obtain. The ability to "read" the ultrasound image is where the difficulty lies. We have employed an ultrasound for over 10 years and feel very qualified in it's use. Some areas of use are pregnancy detection,  liver, spleen and bladder imaging that can't be done by X-ray. Biopsy of organs with guide of the ultrasound is also possilble.

Laboratory Testing: Fountain City Veterinary Hospital can perform most blood tests on site and have results within hours. What is not performed on site is sent to various labs around the country where the best pathologists are consulted.
